Last girl theory

My movie trailer will contain a last girl, this is a convention if many movies. I decided to go with this convention because it gets the audience hooked into the storyline, making them want more and to know what happens, if she lives or dies.

This theory specifically refers to the last girl alive to confront the killer, ostensibly the one left to tell the story. Examples of movies that include this theory are: A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. All big Hollywood horror movies.

This theory was coined by Carol J. Clover in her 1992 book Men, Women, and Chainsaws: Gender in the Modern Horror Film. Clover suggests that in these films, the viewer begins by sharing the perspective of the killer, but experiences a shift in identification to the final girl partway through the film.
